The pleas of the accused were not taken and they would re-appear on Friday, January 7, 2011. Police Inspector Daniel Gazo told the court presided by Mr Justice Ale= x Obeng Asante that the complainant in the case is the Scheme Manager, Mr Att= a Mensah.

On Friday, December 17, he detected that the said amount of money belonging to the scheme could not be traced and therefore made a formal report to the police at Effiduasi. He said Acheampong was arrested and during investigations some duplicate receipts that were unaccounted for were retrieved from him. The prosecution said it was also uncovered that Acheampong was aided b= y Mohammed, an agent at the scheme's Effiduasi Office and Ibrahim, also an agent at the Asokore sub-office.

Acheampong in his caution statement to the police conceded that there were some monies he did not pay into the scheme's account. On their part, the two agents said they gave all monies received from the clients to the acting accountant. The police pleaded with the court to remand them in prison custody to give them enough time to carry out further investigations.
