A mason apprentice identified only as Kwaku has allegedly been attacked by a colleague over GH¢15.

The suspect, known by the nickname Magazine, reportedly used a metal object to stab Kwaku in the stomach.

The incident occurred at the Adieso New Site in the Upper West Akyem District of the Eastern Region.

According to Prince Collins Bening, reporting for Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, the two masons serve as caretakers for a Ghanaian national currently living abroad.

Bening reported that the pair owned a wheelbarrow, which they rented out to local residents.

However, Magazine allegedly deceived Kwaku by claiming that a woman who had rented the wheelbarrow had not paid the rental fee. Upon confronting the woman, Kwaku discovered that she had, in fact, paid Magazine GH¢50.

A confrontation between the two ensued and escalated into a physical altercation, which was eventually broken up.

However, on Monday, July 14, 2025, Magazine allegedly ambushed Kwaku and stabbed him in the stomach with a sharp metallic object.

Kwaku, who was bleeding profusely, was rushed to Adeiso Hospital, where he received initial treatment before being transferred to another facility for further medical attention.

Magazine fled the scene but was later apprehended by local youth and taken to the hospital to witness Kwaku’s condition. Upon seeing the extent of the injuries, Magazine reportedly hung his head in shame.

Police arrived shortly afterward and arrested the suspect.

Meanwhile, Magazine’s family has called on the authorities to deal with him firmly, citing his history of attacking people with objects during disagreements.
