Man secretly buries wife to avoid cost

A man who is believed to be in his fifties has allegedly murdered his wife and has reportedly buried her near a man-hole at their resident near New Bortianor in Accra.

The man whose name was given as Efo, according to information gathered buried his wife after she reportedly died from a short illness.

The suspect upon interrogation claimed that, he had to bury the wife because he was financially unsound to deposit the body at the mortuary.

Narrating the incident to Nyankonton Mu Nsem, Evans Darko said, the suspect and the deceased although are not legally married have stayed together for the past 22 years.

Evans Darko said, his interaction with the suspect revealed that, the deceased died about three days ago because he [suspect] could not afford to send her to the hospital.

The suspect from Evan's narration do not know any family member of the deceased.

Efo is who is currently in the grips of the Weija Divisional Police Command confessed burying the deceased because the body was decomposing.

Meanwhile, the police are making efforts to exhume the body of the deceased.
