Man in court for biting another man's hand

Cape Coast, Nov 13, GNA - A 20-year-old unemployed man, Stephen Appi= ah has appeared before a circuit court in Cape Coast for allegedly biting th= e hand of one Mr Richard Sagoe.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge of causing harm and was granted bail in the sum of GH¢1,000 with one surety to reappear on Monday, Nove= mber 15. Prosecuting, Inspector Daniel Agbezulor, told the court presided ove= r by Mr Samuel Asare-Nyarko that about a year ago, the accused went to the complainant's bar with his friends and bought drinks to the tune of GH¢= 65.00 and left unnoticed without paying.

He said on Tuesday, November 9, this year at about 2300 hours, the complainant saw the accused at London Bridge in Cape Coast and demanded h= is money but the accused became offended, attacked and bit the right hand of= Mr Sagoe. Inspector Agbezulor said the accused with the help of some friends attempted to run away but were pursued. He said the accused admitted the offense in his caution statement. The court ordered the accused to report to the police every Friday. 13 Nov 10
