Mr Mummuni Adakudugu, a 32-year-old farmer has hacked four of his siblings killing two of them on the spot at Asigri near Bawku in the Upper East Region.

Mr Adakudugu hacked Master Ayobe Moro, eight, Adakudugu Nashiru, 18, Samadu Mumuni, seven, and Adakudugu Adams, four years on the late hours of Saturday and killed Ayobe Moro and Adakudugu Nashiru on the spot.

The suspect was immediately lynched by unknown persons before police got to the scene.

Dr Christ Bawa, Medical officer at the Bawku Presbyterian hospital, who conducted post-mortem on the deceased and confirmed them dead, said they died out of haemorrhagic shock, secondary to cutlass wounds.

Meanwhile, Adams Adakudugu and Samadu Mumuni who sustained various degrees of cutlass wounds are on admission at the intensive care unit of the Bawku hospital.

Chief Superintendent Yao Tettegah, Bawku Divisional Police Commander who confirmed the incident in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Bawku said the suspect lived at Bawdie in the Western Region and only visited the family to commit such a crime.

Mr Tettegah said investigations were on-going to ascertain the cause of the suspect’s action and indicated that it was too early to tell the actual cause behind the incident.
