Abudu Gate Condemns Statement By Andanis

Members of the Abudu Gate of Yendi have condemned in no uncertain terms what it termed “the pre-emptive and prejudicial statement issued by the so-called spokesmen of the Andani Family in which they accused the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo, of supporting our side in the conflict”.

They contended that the latest statement by the Andani Gate is nothing more than another attempt to find a sacrificial lamb for their own acts of omissions and commissions and to cover up their mendacious utterances, which are yet to be substantiated before the Wuaku Commission. It said, “At a time when the nation is all ears to the very starting revelations at the Wuaku Commission, the statement by the group simply amounts to ugly and distractive noises by those discredited by the real truths being told, which to all intents and purposes, believe the very wild and unfounded allegations they initially made and attempted to foist on the nation as the facts of the matter”.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Abudu Gate and signed by Mr Amadu Kaleem, the spokesman of the gate, in reaction to a press conference held by the Andani Family in which the Andanis accused the Attorney General of supporting the Abudus. It said, “We wish to appeal to the government and indeed, the media to ignore these Accra-based self-proclaimed spokesmen who have not set foot in either Yendi, Tamale or Sunyani since the problem cropped up, but have sought to use it as an opportunity to feather their political nests”.

It advised them to give due process a chance instead of constantly attempting to play the complainants superintendent, judge and jury at the same time. The statement assured them that the truth, “which can never be suppressed no matter the spin on issues, will soon catch-up with them.” It said the Andanis can never gain through lies, deceit and communist style propaganda what they cannot have through law and tradition.

It said while the Abudus are committed to giving peace, legality and civility a chance at the Wuaku Commission, “we shall not countenance any further the deceitful and diabolic postures of those who seek to play politics with Dagbon traditional matters in their desire to create a statement of a parochial and dangerous agenda. The statement said the constant rush by the Andani group to go international on such an internal matter betrays their hidden motive to constantly embarrass the government and undermine the country’s image by exposing it to ridicule.
