Food vendor slashes hubby over cell phone conversation

Accra, June 9, GNA - A Circuit Court in Accra on Tuesday remanded in police custody, a food vendor who inflicted cutlass wounds on her husband while he was sleeping.

Victoria Ashiboye was said to be eavesdropping on her husband's conversation while he was receiving a phone call. The court did not take Victoria's plea, who was charged with engaging in behaviour or conduct that harms or endangers the safety of another, The accused will reappear on June 11 before the court, presided over by Mr. C.A. Wilson.

The prosecution said at about 2000 hours on May 10, Mr Samuel Amartey received a call on his mobile phone and unknown to him, Victoria was eavesdropping behind their window.

After receiving the call, Mr Amartey went to bed only to be attacked by Victoria with a cutlass, inflicting multiple wounds on him. The prosecution said Victoria after conducting the crime locked her husband in the room and bolted.

Mr Amartey who bled profusely managed to raise the alarm and was rescued from the room.
