Food seller remanded in custody for murder

Sekondi, July 7, GNA - A Sekondi District Magistrate's Court on Thursday remanded Mary Eduafo, a food seller, into prison custody for allegedly murdering a 14-year pupil of Young Christian Preparatory School in Takoradi.

The accused, who was a food seller at the school, is to re-appear on July 20 this year. She is alleged to have caused the death of the pupil for stealing her money.

Her plea was not taken and the prosecution did not give the facts of the case.

The prosecution told the court that the autopsy report and the docket on the case have been sent to the office of the Attorney General for advice.

Counsel for the accused prayed the court to grant her bail, because available facts indicate that she was not responsible for the death of the pupil.
