Farmer defiles four and half year-old child

Koforidua, Aug 03, GNA - Kofi Larbi, a 43-year-old farmer, has been arrested by the police for allegedly defiling a four-and-half-year-old child at Ayisikrom near Koforidua.

Larbi, who has five children, resides at Brong Densu near Akwadum where the victim also stays with the mother, Margaret Dede and her elder sister.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Kwabena Gyamera Yeboah, Eastern Regional Police Commander, told the GNA that Larbi was arrested following a complaint by the victim’s mother.

He said on July 30 the mother of the victim left home for a funeral in Koforidua, leaving the victim with her elder sister.

Larbi then went to the house of the victim and took her to Ayisikrom where he allegedly defiled her.

DCOP Yeboah said when the victim’s mother returned from the funeral, she could not find her in the house but later saw Larbi coming with the victim.

The mother suspected that he might have defiled the victim because of the way she was walking. She examined the child and found out that her private part had been tempered with.

She reported at the Akwadum police station where she was given a medical form to take the daughter to the hospital.
