Family of five found dead at Koforidua

Residents of Yawkyeremakro, a suburb of Koforidua, were gripped with awe and shock when they woke up on Wednesday to find an entire household of a couple and three children dead.

The deceased, Kwasi Asare, 50, his wife whose name was only given as Jane, 45, and their three children aged 15, 11 and four respectively were all found dead with their fore skins peeled off in their rented chamber and hall apartment.

Some of the residents who stood in shock at the premises and unable to hold their tears said they suspected an acid attack.

Narrating the incident to GNA, the landlady of the compound house, Madam Comfort Boateng, said, they woke up by 0600hrs only to be alarmed by a passer-by who had walked by the window of the deceased family and found their window nets torn in a suspicious state.

According to Madam Boateng, the passer-by said she peeped through the window and saw a lifeless body of Jane and so rushed into the house to inform the landlady of what she had seen.

This caused the landlady and other tenants to break into the apartment only to find the entire family dead with their skins peeled off.

The landlady said they quickly called the New Juaben Police command who arrived after a few minutes to pick up the bodies of the couple and their three children.

The police said they have sent the bodies to the Police Hospital in Accra for forensic examination pending other investigations.
