Family of Fredrica petitions Attorney-General

The family of Fredrica Palm, a 45-year-old woman who was killed three years ago, in a shooting incident in Jamestown, a suburb of Accra, has petitioned the Attorney-General to carry out a full-scale investigation into the matter.

"In view of, and under the circumstances stated herein before, we do hereby demand upon you to conduct full scale investigation into the alleged incident of August 15, 2011..."

These were contained in a petition to the Attorney-General and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Tuesday.

The petition signed by Lawyer John David Merson, counsel for the family, recounted that on August 15, 2011, Palm was allegedly shot in her private part by a Musketeer escort to the new Bartionor Korfe, Nii Kommey Dadieku I.

It said the deceased was rushed to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The petition said although a formal complaint was made at the Jamestown Police Station, no positive action had since been taken, hence this petition.
