Fake doctor arrested over sex video

An alleged self-styled medical doctor, Faith Mensah Tekpor, who has purportedly been using recorded sexual videos to blackmail his victims, has been arrested by the police.

Tekpor, who allegedly uses various names, including Dr Jeff Alvin Addow, Dr Alvin Annan, Dr Alvin Owusu, Dr Fiifi Owusu, Dr Collins Amoah and Dr Alvin Mensah, according to police reports, collects various sums of money from his victims, who are mostly women.

He then convinces them to have an affair with him after which he secretly records the sexual encounter, the reports have indicated.

Later when the victims demand their monies, the suspect then uses the recorded sex videos to blackmail them.

According to the police, Faith Mensah Tekpor was arrested after succeeding in jumping court bail on several occasions.

The Director in-charge of the Public Affairs Department of the Ghana Police Service, DSP Sheila Kesse Abayie Buckman, said the suspect is a serial confidence trickster, who often poses as a medical doctor to defraud his victims.

“Using various names, Tekpor proposes love to his victims and record the sexual act,” the police officer said.

“Later, he will then demand various sums of money from them but with the promise of paying them later. When the women ask him for the moneys, the suspect then uses the videos to blackmail them.”

Several women in Tema, Accra and Sakumono have been victims of his acts.

DSP Buckman revealed that Mensah Tekpor was facing trial for defrauding by impersonating and was under investigation.

“Until his recent arrest, he had jumped court bail and was listed as a wanted person following a bench warrant,” the Public Affairs Director posited.

Other victims, she said, could report to the nearest police station or call the crime fighters’ number MTN and Vodafone code 18555.
