An 18-year-old electrician, Augustine Bullu, has been granted bail by the Enchi District Magistrate court in the sum of GHS5,000.00 with one surety for stealing.

He is alleged to have stolen a Citycall mobile phone, pen drive, memory card, boxer shorts and an amount of GHS50.00 all totalling GHS420.00

The accused person who pleaded not guilty to the charges of unlawful entry and stealing would make his next appearance in court on Tuesday, July 7.

Police Detective Inspector Joseph Kwadwo Agyare, prosecuting, told the court presided over by Mr Eric Baah Boateng that the complainant Evans Asiedu is a mason residing at New Yakasi, while accused lived at Old Yakasi both in the Aowin Municipality.

On March 23, this year, complainant returned from town and detected that his mobile phone valued at GHS280.00, a pen drive valued at GHS50.00, memory card valued at GHS30.00, boxer shorts valued at GHS10.00 and cash sum of GHS50.00 had been stolen from his room.

Detective Agyare said at about 0060 hours on March 25, complainant again discovered that thieves had drained all the fuel from his tricycle, which he parked in his compound after close of work.

He said on March 29, around 3.00 am, while the complainant was asleep, the accused sneaked in and the complainant woke up, but Bullu sensing danger quickly left the room and fled into the nearby bush.

The complainant raised an alarm and this attracted some helpers in the neighbourhood who chased Bullu, managed to arrest and handed him over to the Enchi police, after which a complainant was lodged.
