Driver shot dead by robbers in Aseseso

A 31-year-old widow, Gifty Ayertey, who lost her husband in a robbery attack, is appealing to the general public to come to her aid and assist her to cater for her five children.

The widow resides at Akuse in the Eastern Region. Her husband, Mark Kwao, 41, was shot dead by armed robbers at Aseseso when he was on his way from Koforidua to Akuse last Wednesday.

The robbers, who were heavily armed with pump action guns, made way with unspecified amounts of money from passengers.

The deceased driver left behind five children whose ages are 11 years, nine years, five years, four years and five months.

The widow who has no helper is appealing to the government and the Ghana Police Service to arrest and punish those who murdered her husband.

Briefing DAILY GUIDE on the incident in a sorrowful mood, she continued to appeal to the government and other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to come to her aid to enable her take care of the children.

The remains of the driver have been deposited at the Atua Government Hospital morgue pending autopsy, while the police are investigating the matter.
