Key suspects in Omanjor fatal shooting arrested at Dansoman hideout

Chief Inspector Apeweh Achana, prosecuting, explained that the pleas were deferred as murder is involved and investigations are ongoing to apprehend approximately 30 other suspects who remain at large.

The prosecution detailed that the incident happened on August 30, 2025, during the Homowo Festival, when the traditional authorities were leading a procession and the traditional sprinkling of Kpokpoi on the streets of Omanjor and surrounding communities.

The accused and their accomplices allegedly blocked the procession near the “Police land” area, claiming that the Omanjor chief and his people had trespassed.

This led to a confrontation that escalated into an exchange of gunfire, resulting in the deaths of Abubakar Ramadan Sarbahaka Nii Kwashiebu, Joseph Shaibu Dodoo, and Theophilus Nii Amu Kwadjan.

Several others, including Frederick Lartey (alias Nii Obrafour), Samuel Adjei, and Nathaniel Doku, sustained injuries.
