A 28-year-old unemployed, who, driven by jealousy, attacked and stabbed the girlfriend in the right ear with a knife, has been ordered by the Juaso Circuit Court to be held in prison custody.
Paul Dadeaso is facing a charge of causing unlawful harm, and pleaded guilty.
He, however, denied using a knife to hurt the victim and insists he inflicted the cut with the bare hands.
The accused and Adwoa Boatemaa have been in a relationship for about four months.
Police Chief Inspector Joseph Obeng told the court presided over by Mr. Alex Obeng Asante that all had not been smooth within the relatively short period, as Dadeaso had been accusing the girlfriend of cheating on him.
On September 4, at about 2000 hours, he sent for Boatemaa, but she refused to respond to the call and he became furious.
In his fit of anger, he made it straight to the house of the lady, burst into her room, attacked and drove a knife through the ear.
The prosecution said Boatemaa was rushed to the Konongo Government Hospital for treatment and a formal report made to the police.
He was arrested and admitted the offence in his caution statement.
Dadeaso would be back in court on Friday, September 27.
