Court fines food vendor 500,000 cedis

Mankranso-Ashanti, Dec. 29, GNA - The Mankranso Magistrate's court has fined Ashietu Abdulai 35, a food vendor at Ahwerewam in the Ahafo-Ano South District 500,000 cedis for operating without a medical health certificate.

She pleaded guilty and would serve six months imprisonment in default.

The court issued bench warrants for the arrest of eight others. Prosecuting, Mr Austin Dubick, Environmental Health Officer of the Ahafo Ano South District Assembly told the court presided over by Mr Frank Owusu-Afriyie that in August this year, the accused and eight others were found selling food to the public without medical examination certificate.
