BNI boys busted in cocaine deal

Two officers of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) stationed at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) have been remanded in custody for allegedly facilitating the passage of a Nigerian suspect (name withheld) to transport a substance believed to be cocaine.
The two men David Kuukye and Micheal Edusei, senior and junior officers respectively were arrested, along with the suspect, last Monday January 16, 2006, when the suspect was about to board a KLM flight to Amsterdam.
They were subsequently interdicted on January 17.
According to information gathered at the Narcotics Control Board and from KIA, the suspect had swallowed the drug and since the arrest, expelled 73 pellets weighing 700 grams.
The three suspects were interrogated, detained and sent to court last Monday where they were remanded into prison custody.
