Two Ghanaian nationals and one British national have been apprehended by the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) at Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
The arrested individuals are reported to have attempted to smuggle 38 kilograms of compressed substances suspected to be cannabis into the country.

According to a report by 3news.com, security personnel at the airport intercepted two pieces of luggage containing 25 slabs of an illegal substance, leading to the arrest of the three individuals. The two Ghanaians are believed to have been accomplices.
The suspects, who attempted to evade arrest and conceal their activities, reportedly hid the suspected narcotics in false compartments within their suitcases.
However, they were caught during a routine inspection at the arrival terminal and a subsequent examination of the items.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects were working as a group to transport the substances, which were tightly wrapped and labelled in a manner consistent with international drug trafficking methods.
The three arrested suspects are in custody and are said to be assisting with ongoing investigations. NACOC has confirmed that the substances will be sent to the Ghana Standards Authority for laboratory testing.
