Armed robbers attack EMS rider

Accra, Sept 27, GNA - The Darkuman Police have intensified efforts to apprehend three armed robbers, who attacked an EMS rider at the Darkuman Cable and Wireless, Accra area and robbed him of his Motorbike together with the box containing parcels he was delivering on Monday afternoon.

The Station Officer of the Darkuman Police Station, Chief Inspector D.B. Amissah has, therefore, appealed to the public to volunteer information that could lead to the arrest of the armed robbers. Narrating how the EMS rider, Mr Abraham Ahorley was attacked, Chief Inspector Amissah said Mr Ahorley's Motorbike developed some fault when he branched off the main Darkuman Highway into the rough road behind Cable and Wireless.

He said while Mr Ahorley was trying to fix the machine three hoodlums appeared from nowhere and pretended to offer some assistance. But when the rider told them he was almost through with the repair they brought out clubs and pistols and gave Mr Ahorley severe beatings and took away the Motorbike together with the box containing the parcels, Chief Inspector Amissah said.

Meanwhile the Management of Ghana Post have called on their valued customers, especially those affected by the unfortunate incident, to bear with them as they make efforts to retrieve the items.
