Akpeteshie dealer granted bail

Madam Mary Ayisi, 38, has been granted a GH¢ 1,000.00 bail for engaging in fictitious trading by the Tarkwa Magistrate Court.

The accused, who is a local gin (Akpeteshie) dealer, and was facing a similar charge before the same Court, pleaded guilty.

She will re-appear before the Court for further hearing on November 19.

Police Inspector Faustina Celestina Anaman told the Court presided by Mr Jonathan Nunoo that the complainant, Charles Frimpong, is a farmer and a local gin distiller at Kofi Gyan, a village on the Tarkwa-Bogoso road.

She said in July the accused person, who is a resident of Nzemaline, a surburb of Tarkwa, approached the complainant at Kofi Gyan and credited GH¢360.00 worth of local gin.

After receiving the drink the accused assured Frimpong that she would bring the money the following day.

The Prosecution said after the accused person finished selling the drink she failed to honor her promise.

Inspector Anaman said on October 28, the complainant reported the accused to the police and by then she already was in custody for committing a similar offence.
