Accused granted 15 million cedis bail for unlawful damage.

Tema, Sept. 12, GNA -- The Tema Circuit Court 'A' has granted 15 million cedis bail to an unemployed when he was put before it on a charge of causing damage to a GHACEM bus at Ashaiman. Christopher Peter Tetteh pleaded not guilty to the charge, and will re-appear on Tuesday, September 14.

Police Inspector Adolphus Otchere, told the court that in the morning of January 3, this year, a driver of GHACEM in-charge of a Cosmos Bus, was picking workers from their various destinations for night duty.

Inspector Otchere said on reaching a popular drinking spot at Ashaiman the accused person was standing near the bar with his two friends.. The prosecution said when the driver spotted them in his lane, he blew his horn to draw their attention, but they ignored it. Inspector Otchere said as the driver slowed down to by-pass him, the accused person picked a stone and threw it against the window side glass, breaking it.

The prosecution said they took to their heels when the driver and the occupants of the vehicle raised the alarm.

Inspector Otchere said they chased and arrested the accused person, who after interrogation, was handed over to the main harbour police.
