A South African suspect arrested at Aflao border

Aflao, June 04, GNA - A South African businessman suspected to be involved in a casino fraud was nabbed at the Aflao border by personnel of Ghana Immigration Service last Tuesday.

Shawn Boyd Venke, 29, whose apparent haste to cross over the border to Togo, raised the suspicion of Immigrations Officers and when being interrogated information reached the security at Aflao from Police Headquarters in Accra for his arrest.

Mr Baba Moro, Crime Officer at the Aflao District Police Headquarters told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Aflao that Venke was arrested at about 1100hours.

He said sometime in May this year, Venke was alleged to have manipulated gambling machines at a Casino in Accra, siphoned thousands of US dollars and absconded.
