A suspected ritual murder has plunged Domeabra Old Town in the Ga South Municipality into fear and disbelief, as residents call for urgent government and police intervention.
The victim, identified only by his local nickname ‘Taller’, a 50-year-old mason, was found dead in an uncompleted building where he lived.
His body had been mutilated, with certain organs and tissues removed.
According to a report by myjoyonline.com on October 19, 2025, the deceased was ambushed and killed by unknown assailants who allegedly harvested parts of his body.

The nature of the injuries has led investigators to classify the crime as a suspected ritual killing.
Joseph Akrashie, the Assemblyman for the Domeabra Electoral Area, who has been working closely with the police, described the incident as terrifying.
“Taller is well-known in the area, and we are shocked about what has happened to him. Preliminary investigations by the police indicate that the suspects cut the deceased’s left heel and left thigh and removed all the veins in that part,” he said.
The precision of the mutilation, according to authorities, suggests that the parts were extracted for ritual purposes, possibly to be used in the preparation of ‘juju’ or spiritual charms.
The Ghana Police Service Homicide Unit has since taken over the case. The body has been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary in Accra for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and provide forensic leads.
No arrests have been made so far, and the perpetrators remain at large.
