4 arrested for robbery on Cape Coast–Accra Highway

The Police in the Central Region have rounded up four persons for attempting to rob a passenger bus on the Cape Coast-Accra highway.

The four, according to the police almost attacked passengers on-board a commercial vehicle [Mercedez Sprinter Bus] with registration number GR 6914-13 in the foiled robbery attempt.

The driver of the sprinter bus is said to have been attacked at Dominase-Potsin by the armed robbers who were driving a Toyota Corolla with registration number GW 2485- M17 as they took away an unspecified amount of money from the mate.

According to the Police, the robbers were about robbing the passengers when the police arrived at the scene after a tip off.

The Public relations officer of the central regional police command DSP Irene Oppong speaking on the matter with Kasapa News’ Central regional correspondent Kwaku Baah-Acheamfour indicated four of the said robbers have been arrested and are being interrogated leading to their prosecution.

The suspects arrested are Michael Quaye, Kofi Arthur Stephen, Alex Odoom and Daniel Otchere with a fifth person known as Kweku Ameteb alias “Black Taller” who is currently on the run.

He is said to have sped off with a motor bike on sighting the police approaching the scene.

The police have appealed to the public to help effect his arrest while calling on the victims of the robbery to continue cooperating with the police to aid investigations on the matter.
