2 Nigerian robbers steal GHC33K in Western Region

Police in the Western Region have arrested two Nigerian robbery suspects after they ran out of luck in their attempt to escape with a GHC33,000 loot.

Abidoye Adekunlo, 47; and Alhaji Sulimon Olaoluwa, 44; were arrested in the afternoon of Wednesday, 9 May 2018, at the Inchaban police barrier in an attempt to bolt with the money.

The law enforcement agency said its Information Room had a distress call from one Mr Michael Agyekum, a businessman, around 2pm on the said day that two men with a light blue Toyota Matrix vehicle with a Nigerian registration number plate, had stolen GHC33,000 from his vehicle, which he had just withdrawn from Prudential Bank, Takoradi branch.

The Information Room quickly informed the various police checkpoints to be on the lookout for the vehicle.

The vehicle, with registration number EKY 878 FB was intercepted by duty men at the Inchaban Police Barrier.

The money was retrieved and the suspects are currently in police custody.
