So swearing with the Bible is an indication that a government will fulfill its promises? Give me a break Mr. Nkrumah. I now know the truth: THE NPP WILL NOT DELIVER!
Sincerely,
Apostle Mawuetornam Dugbazah

The truth of the matter is: this policy sounds good but is hardly workable, if only private enterprise is going to drive it. Who decides which factory is going where, if govt. has no money in it? And do all the 216 districts have the road, water, electricity infrastructure necessary for the works? Jobs are needed alright but does it really matter where a factory stands? Mixing politics with economics, I'm afraid, will kill the objective of general industrialisation because they run according to different rules. Some pragmatic rethinking must take place. Otherwise we will see much much ado about very little. Common sense really.

So the Chinese give a loan of 10 billion and in return offered mining assets worth 450 billion. Whoever agreed this is incompetent to run their office. This is daylight robbery. What NPP should rather undergo with the Chinese is a joint-venture, where all revenues from the bauxite mining is shared 50/50 between the Ghanaian government and the Chinese mining company. Workers too will comprise of 50/50 from both sides. The annual financial report from the mining company will give information about the profits gained from the mining activities. This will be smaller sum annually (than 10 billion) but in the long run, Ghanaians will not be bounded to any long term loan that cripples the nation's economy and also gain much more money over the years in return, than the 10 billion (remember, the mine is worth 450 billion). This strategy is practised by all western countries and as the saying goes, Rome was not built in a day. African nations have been taking these loans for over many decades now and it has never helped their economies but yet they keep on repeating the same mistakes. They simply never learn from previous mistakes. Can someone just offer me these positions instead so i can implement a strategy that benefits the citizens, instead of undergoing these rip-off loans? Africa, wake up, for heavens sake!
