GHANA IS NOT EFFICIENT IN MANAGING ITS RESOURCES
One challenge we have to deal a blow to as a people is the disjointed approach to the management of the country. The ideology matter which has been the main point of argument has been fading away if not already faded. Good policies initiated by one administration are abandoned by the incoming and new ones started. The policies sometimes never get matured for the benefits to be felt. This has been allowed to continue which waste resources and don’t allow us to make progress at the rate we require. If things are allowed for the politicians to decide the selfish interests will take the center stage and the ordinary person will be the loser. In my view coalition of all civil societies organizations(CVO) should come together to rescue the situation.
The NPP has won the elections with its own programs and the people of Ghana will mark them based on these programs. So the concentration is to realize them. Meanwhile there may be some good programs initiated under the previous administration which needed to be continued or fine tuned and continued but they may be abandoned. Resources invested into these will go waste or allowed to be eroded by time instead of the citizens enjoying the benefits in the meantime. In the same vein the government after the current administration will also come into leadership with its own programs and will not continue with some of the good things being done now. The Constitution mandates successive governments to continue with projects and programs of previous administration but one cannot tie the hands of governments to do that. It is up to the government to do the ones it considers critical to the realization of its goals. In any case not all programs and projects of one administration critical to the other. The Constitution has provided the broad framework for governments but it is up to individual governments to design the specific. I will desire that CVO come up with the basic policies that will continue to guarantee minimum better living conditions as we find in the setting of minimum wage. The grandiose projects by parties will be the basis by which governments will be measured and it will be the yardsticks for competing parties during campaign.
The request by the Minister for Housing to pull down Kaiser Flats should be looked at again. I can bet anyone that this Flats despite the concretepeeling off is stronger and enduring than most of the buildings being put up today. It emphasizes the point of our lack of maintenance culture we have as a country. If the concrete is peeling off it is best we renovate them unless politicians and some people in high places want to take advantage of the land space after the buildings have been pulled down. I live in Tema and without any shred of doubt the concrete for most of the old bungalows and buildings cannot be compared to those we are building today. Many of these buildings are comparatively old but they are stronger. How many times did we hear of the collapse of these old buildings? Putting up fresh building with state resources will benefit certain people especially those with influence. I expect citizens to protest to the pulling down and rather ask for renovation work which I believe will be less costly at this point of our economic state. If Government has money, it should be deployed in some other relevant areas to benefit the larger population. I have decided to keep my views to myself from now; they are my intellectual property until such a time I also have the opportunity to play an active role in governance. I believe my mission in this world is to provide solutions but we don’t recognize people’s work.
I have decided not to make any contribution on issues concerning the NDC but I am at times forced to make a comment or two about them. All the names coming up to lead the NDC including the former President cannot win the next election. I am particularly surprised by the comment of the PNC’s General Secretary that the Second Deputy Speaker’s time is not due and was rather endorsing the candidature of the former President. I will like to learn from Atik Mohammed what qualities make someone fit to lead the NDC? He also endorsed the thinking that the former President has a legacy; a legacy which could not win him the 2016 elections. What legacy did he have before winning the elections in 2012? Does it mean that until one has a legacy in politics one cannot win elections in Ghana? I will prove this thinking as wrong in the near future. The former President once worked in the Japanese Embassy and was then keeping banking account with the bank I worked with. Ghanaians should have found out his performance at the places he worked and not necessarily in politics. Nobody deliberately went to school to become a politician. It is important to be abreast with our performances at places we worked before entering into politics to give signal of our capabilities.
The General Secretary should be thinking of what he and his team will do to make the PNC winnable in our elections and stop poking their mouths into matters concerning the NDC. Or better still he should denounce his membership of the PNC and join the NDC. I believe some of these smaller parties are just wasting everybody’s time and the decision by Ghanaians not to sanction state funding of political parties is very right and appropriate. All those parties claiming allegiance to Osagyefo should close down and join the CPP which I consider a more serious one. Ultimately I am expecting all of them to join force with the PPP to contest the elections for which some of us are ready to assist with ideas which can enable them win or at worse decide which party forms government. We all saw what happened in France,I bet the same will happen in Ghana sooner than later.
Party grassroots should be strategic and stop being used as pons for the benefit of the top hierarchy. What do we benefit after our sacrifices? The best is a few Ghana cedis which cannot create inheritance for our families. As we speak now some of you the grassroots have given yourselves to propagate the presidential ambitions of some big people in the NDC whiles they and their families who are the ultimate beneficiaries are taking it cool in their homes and offices. Is it because we don’t have jobs to do? This is what they like so that we can be available to do the “dirty” jobs. Allow them to go forward to do the jobs themselves so that they enjoy alone. Don’t forget so easily their decisions to keep the campaign funds for themselves whiles you were deprived. They are currently enjoying those funds; what are you also enjoying? They give us stipends whiles they make so much. When the party is going out of power, they push us into positions which they will not do whiles they are in charge. It should tell you they don’t wish us good. More annoying is theyhabour members who swore to uphold the Constitution of Ghana but deep inside they know they will not keep. They sit on boards to take decisions which affect ordinary Ghanaians to their detriment. They display so much dishonesty and we spend time to vote them into power. What do we expect?
Politics should not be used for dirty things by dirty people whose operational agenda is dirty. Looking around one finds that many of those involved in politics are educated for that matter enlightened. Then why should they allow politics to be dirty? It is those educated people whose hope to good life is politics and they will do anything dirty to get what they want. They don’t use family and friends to do the dirty things but use innocent and deprived individuals. It is time for all of us to be wiser that we were before or wise if we were not.

TAGGING IN OUR POLITICS CANNOT GIVE US THE BEST RESULTS
The issue I am about to discuss is one I have been trying to avoid. It was acute in the early days of our fourth Republican dispensation because politicians identified it as the most convenient subject for their campaigns. There were several issues on the table for discussion but many of us did not appreciate better the system we had embarked upon, multi party democracy. As we journeyed further it has become clear it was not the important issue to put our attention on. Politicians in recent times have tried to introduce it in their campaigns but Ghanaians are quick to condemn it. It was attempted in the just ended campaign but it did not find fertile ground to thrive.
Voters have largely come to realize that where the personalities who lead the country come from has not changed their fortunes. More often than not these personalities take up the mantle of leadership with much concentration on their families and friends and not their tribesmen and women who also face the same challenges and difficulties other people from other locations go through. This matter has taken a downward dive in our politics but there is still some simmering under tone living with us. People with certain names are seen as allegiant to certain political parties which I find unfortunate. It is not always the case particularly for those of us who live in the big towns and cities and have the opportunities to intermingle with one another and have better dispositions to analyze the issues.
In the heat of the campaign some of us were regularly in the media calling on our kinsmen and women to ignore the tagging placed on them by a certain political party and vote otherwise based on the issues being discussed by the various flag bearers. We have gone steps ahead to suggest and advice on how the votes of a political party can be improved and ways to prevent suspected foreigners from voting in the elections. Could this suggest that we voted on tribal lines? The reason for making these comments is that it has been difficult to solicit help from members of this Government because of the name one bears. Approaches made to even people one knew very well several years before are returned with disdain. But you find other persons being given better treatment probably based on the fact of their names. This has happened before in the past and one is minded to consider that similar thing is happening. I wish to advise that it is stopped immediately to forestall any backlash. It will not be in our interests if this perception is accepted into politics.
During my first year in the University of Ghana one of the earliest topics discussed was “interpersonal communication” and in this ones attention was drawn to the negative aspect of generalization. It is very easy to ignore all other considerations and label people based on where they come from. Ever since, I have shied away from tagging and I am the first to say that my best friends are not from the same geographical location. We need to credit people with what they have because in the creation of man God did not give talents based on ethnicity or parents. There are several examples in the Bible to learn from. The Bible should always be the reference for whatever engagement we undertake. And if we do that we shall be overcomers in our pursuits.
It is we human beings who have established all kinds of limitations on ourselves and this profit some people whiles some suffer the consequences. But I believe God has given us the power with His support to take them off us. How can we maximize the opportunities and resources we have as a country? The non maximization has been the major cause of our woes. The resources have been recounted in several conversations in the past but we are going through challenging times. Are we going to drift along like this until nobody knows when? My suggestion of the solution is to engage ourselves deliberately setting realistic but laudable goals without too much fanfare and rhetoric. Having sleepless nights trying to fashion out solutions without thinking so much about our personal benefits should be the way to go. Harnessing available resources particularly the human and putting aside pettiness. This is the vision I have in my mind when I call for a very strong third force in our politics. Competition should bring out the best in us for the national good. Is this not a laudable project that should receive the endorsement of all progressive people?
There are brilliant individuals around who don’t feel the need to join political parties. They may be sympathetic towards one or two political parties but are not card bearing members. How can all these people contribute to the development of the state in policy making and implementation? We know politicians decide on the allocation of resources so have the final say in the direction of the country. Should there be the formation of a movement for national development?
I was caught wondering to hear the former President admit they made a mistake in their decision to provide tractors to farmers without service centers. Often times the decisions we take are limited in out look, failing to take into consideration the after effect. They are taken as ends rather than means to an end. His Government did not consider the fact that tractors can break down and will not be able to serve the objective for their acquisition. A comprehensive policy should have informed them about this need and this has always been the bane of politicians. They will not seek views and suggestions of the experts and civil society on national policies arrogating to themselves everything. Whatever harm that will be caused has already happened and society is the loser ultimately. We should all be learning from these things and assure ourselves to do better. There are more other mistakes which are waiting to be admitted. Will he have admitted this while in office?
The former President thinks provision of infrastructure is what makes a government a good one. Where does he get this logic from? He is often heard saying his government did well based on the infrastructure they provided the country. He seems not to believe that their lost election was real and was based on poor performance. It is very dangerous for Ghanaians to give him the second chance to lead the country again. As long as he does not appreciate his failings as the President, he is bound to commit the country into the same difficulties which ousted him from power. I find it very dangerous and I think the Ghanaian people dare not make the mistake. Until he admits that his Government failed by the policy choices he should not make any attempt at the presidency. The health of the economy comes first and all other things follow. He will fail as many times possible if he holds this thinking about infrastructure.
The revelations of corruption coming out from various fronts against heads of public institutions have been possible because of the change in administration. We should not forget that these heads have all been appointed by the President or the government at the time. The appointing authority should ultimately take the blame for the misconducts of all these people. As long as a government is in power issues of corruption and mismanagements are usually kept under the carpet unless it is out of power. The call for strong and vibrant political alternative to contest and win power aside the two dominant parties is meant to offer wider opportunity to expose mismanagement among others in our political establishment. We should widen and free the space for better options which should take a deliberate effort from ordinary citizens. It will be in the interest of politicians if we allow the status quo and it offers them the leverage to continue the mismanagements and corruption.
Our brothers and sisters in the media are the ones used to perpetuate the agenda of politicians by the offerings to them to deliberately paint certain pictures but ordinary citizens are more than ready now to provide strong opposition and provide the true picture to even the dumbest person in the society. The exploitations in the society have gone on for far too long and we have to call for its cessation. There should be equity and fairness in the distribution of the Nations’ resources. Wrong doings must be punished while hard works should be rewarded. There should be change in the ways we do things as a nation.

EMPLOYMENT CREATION IS VERY KEY
The economy of a country is everything because it envelops all and affects everything. If the economy if any country does well, the people will naturally be doing well so Economic Management Teams should be solid. It is the interplay of all activities so it is important for the leadership of a country to deliberately direct it to the desired direction. I can understand why the President has kept faith in the Vice President all these while. He stuck to the same choice in all the three attempts for the presidency. The current Economic Management Team constitutes members with so much pedigree including my indefatigable former managing director, Honourable Yaw OsafoMaafo so I am confident it will be successful in directing this country on the desired path to recovery.
Job creation is such acceptable direction and I am very happy the current Government is doing that. I wish to encourage them. Before the elections and immediately after the elections I saw myself committed to assist in ideas even though the Government is not bereft. I have always lived by a saying in our local parlance that too much fish in the soup does not deprive it of its flavor. My attitude in life has been based on this position; I avail myself of anything but I believe the final decision lies with me.
Any government that wants to grow the economy should by necessity avail the population means of employment, whether private or public. Apart from being an avenue of generating income by way of tax, it affords the population descent living and I believe this should be one of the major reasons to administer this country. It is a real pain for anybody to wake up in the morning and does not know where his/her next meal will come from. Many of us who are employed and have not fallen into such a situation will not understand. I have been a victim and the Lord used it to speak to me. The qualifications others have and making millions, you also have but opportunities are not there for you. There are people working in government today who did not say or write any single report to extol the candidate of the NPP then. But there are many including my good self who did quite but do not have that opportunity.
Government has announced various programs to create jobs. My expectation for these programs is that sustainable and descent jobs should be created. We are in a global village and competition has become the order of the day. Goods produced elsewhere are in Ghana and will compete with ours on various fronts including price and quality among others. As to whether we can live up to the competition will require hard and deliberate efforts from us.The One District, One Factory program which is going to rely on local raw materials will have to face this challenge. How competitive are our factors of production compared to others who are on daily basis shipping their products onto our shores?
The country finds itself in difficult times concerning job provision so things must be done differently from normal times. The Government has so much advantage in terms of resources and opportunities. The issue of PPP is critical now than ever before. I have observed good patronage for the MMT services which can be replicated in other areas as well. Even with the MMT I want to encourage Government to provide them more fleets of buses as the opportunities for growth is evident. This can be a source of job provision. I believe the price charged and the convenience it provides enables it to attract clienteles. I have never patronized their services until now when I decided to go for a try. Long queues develop at the terminals in Accra for Tema destination during peak times which is an indication of potential success if Government can turn their attention to that area and support the place.
Governments are said not to be engaged in business but I think it should leverage on its advantages and strengths at this critical time and do business to generate more employments. It has to engage business minded persons to run these businesses and demand accountability and best business practices from them. We need to deliberately resolve the job problem to enable us move forward as a country. There are more one will like to offer but I am taking a wait and see attitude. It is my wish that more employment opportunities are created to afford all of us the openings to be engaged because being unemployed is really painful.
Now the NDC is not in government so they have the full compliment of the party’s human resource to work to dent the image of the Government to give them the opportunity to come to power. I have advised before that without a strong communication unit, the NPP will not have come to power and without a knowledgeable and vibrant communication team the NPP will easily go out of power. So in power they still need the team because they will be dealing with a party that believes in propaganda and actually have their strength in this area. They know the weaknesses of the ruling party so they have confidence of coming to power in 2020.
In the run up to the elections many of you have forgetting that anytime the flag bearer of the NPP mentioned any program they will do if they come to power, the propaganda persons of the NDC including their presidential candidate come out to say it cannot be done. It took some of us to debunk their positions and argue why it can be done. It was necessary to do this because Ghanaians were listening to all sides and depending on how convincing one is, they appreciated it. Many of my articles I wrote were towards this objective but they have been discounted by the party hence my decision to be indifferent now. The choice is theirs to make, I have spoken.
What are the complications with the USD2.25billion bond issue that it is not going away? The minority should ensure that in their search for answers on this bond, they do not do anything that will affect the country negatively. The instability in the exchange rate has been a bother for many people because this country is strictly import dependent and any instability in the foreign exchange market affects us badly. It is we the ordinary people, mostly consumers who suffer most in instances like this. The minority has the legal right to demand answers on the issue but in their quest nothing should be done to hurt the country. Speculations play very key roles in financial matters and they should know better. I think that the Finance Minister used his links to undertake this transaction which made it somehow extra ordinary. If there is any fraud in the transaction it will be in the areas value can be created like the coupon and the exchange rate in simplistic. We don’t have to spend the whole time on just one transaction. There are challenges we need to aver our minds to.

The betrayal of anyone, for whatever reason is unacceptable. Because such behavior may lead to the death of the person being targetted. This behavior must not be encouraged in anyway, whatever the circumstances. That is, if it is proved, the action taken could be deemed a betrayal. Therefore, if an intimate person betrays a family, friend or colleague. But fortune smiles on the target, the natural course should be made to take its course. Remember, the old adage. Traitors fall on their own swords. The source of this story however, is not credible and must therefore not to be believed.

Nana, please don't make the mistake of getting into this Ben Epson's diabolic trap! The next thing you will be hearing is that accommodate Crabbe, because the Gas will also be clamouring for their kinsman. Then the Northeners will follow with a call for reinstatement of Afoko because, in spite of his behaviour NPP has won the elections anyway, so no fears. A word to the wise is enough. I rest my case.

In the end, we need people who can deliver. Our biggest problem is not Afoko neither is it Crabbe nor Agyapong. Nana is himself the problem. He has not proven himself above reproach or in control. All we keep hearing is meaningless rhetoric and for those of us close enough we know it isn't all clean and nice; the mess is going to blow up soon.

Late Adams died doing his best for the party. They can be welcomed back into the party ,but to hire them will not auger well with us . They are TRAITORS .They can wait for Kyeremanteng 's government for appointments.

The two years suspension handed out to the three former officials of the NPP might have made them learnt lessons as politicians.Sometimes people think that,it is by money power that makes man formidable, but this is not so, as they have now realised that, this is not the case, but rather, submission to laws and regulations of an organization that may bring unity in the institution. It would not be wrong if President Akuffo Addo accepts them in the system once more, but to their former status, this might be decided later on by elections in future.

With the ban lifted they can contest again in a new election and the party can then vote them out into the wilderness permanently.
Nana please give kwabena a menisteral post, kwabena forget about the GS.
He can be a party member NOT a General Secretary. The decision he and Afoko took led the death of Adams Mahama, the Regional Minister death. He can't work with Akuffo Addo's gov't to sabotage him PERIOD.
