Please advise the he goat top ranking officials who practice no sex no employment tactics on our women. If a lady is employed on that basis work will stall or not be done at all. If bribes are not collected before employment, employees will give their best, if family members are not considered before qualified people there will be hardworking environment, if we stop employing party foot soldiers and treat every citizen as a hardworking Ghanaians we will move the country forward. Mr. President, I believe you are also guilty of one of this attitude which is a setback to progress in our society.

Let us embrace the culture of Time management principles. Why is it easy for a Ghanaian to catch a train on time in most advanced countries? TIME IS EQUALS TO MONEY, so they say TIME IS MONEY.

The reason why too many Ghanaians do not respect time is because there is almost no sanctions for their actions.Public school teachers show up at schools whenever they feel like doing so and leave before the end of the school day because the HeadTeachers are doing the same or
are powerless to do something about it.Go to any government hospital today and you will see a large number of sick people lined up and waiting for treatment while the nurses walk around or sit with a mean frown on their faces. The Doctors on duty come and go as they please and are considered as mini gods beyond questions. This is why we need Ministers and the media making unannounced visits at hospitals and schools to make sure that public servants are executing their duties.

Ghanains in general have bad work ethics. It is a sisyphean task to try to change the country's attitude towards work. There shouldn't be the need for a minister to make an unannounced visit to see that people are doing the jobs they are hired to do. What then is the use of the immediate supervisor or manager who is there with the worker? Are managers powerless or unwilling to ensure that the work is being done?

Nice one Mr President, please tell it as it is for the nation to know our weak points. Right now most Ghanaian workforce expect to earn more for doing less, but no decent employer can stand this type of personnel weakness. This kind of attitude must change if we want to further develop this country, for there is no gain without pain. This country needs to move on in development and that calls for more people with aptitude to work, respect and observation of working hours in all industries.

At last, thank God for Nana Akufo Addo, who really knows what a real Head of State and leader of a Govt is about and should be up and doing. For far too long, Ghanaian leaders only thought ruling a country is only about signing contracts and collecting kick backs instead of setting the country on track to developing a prosperous an inclusive economy and civilising the entire populace instead of the usual muddled and light weight or shallow thinking from before! Indeed leadership should be deeper with the aim of lasting change of attitudes of the people for the long term and and for the better instead of the superficial and shallow leadership trends that we had before now! So, more grease your elbows Nana and with God's help you certainly succeed and leave a lasting legacy even surpassing Nkrumah's perceived post colonial legacy!!

Our primitive culture is to blame. Unless we make changes in our culture, there could not be any progress.
1/ Funerals-too expensive and time wasting, affects productivity.
2/Chieftaincy-mismanage lands and resources, everything is about themselves and how powerful and rich they are, children and their mothers do not matter. they sell lands leaving no spaces for water ways, parks and gardens, schools, recreation grounds etc. this practice belongs to the museums.
3/ 'abosom' based on lies and intimidation, too primitive.
4/Prayer camps: They exploit the sick and dying to their grave. This practice must be investigated and banned.
5/ one man churches(Obinim etc): They must not be allowed to continue with their exploitation of innocent but ignorant people.
The scientific way of solving problems must be encouraged because it works.

I wholeheartedly agree with the President on this attitude of the Ghanaian government worker.
Just compare the output of the private schools teachers who are poorly paid in comparison with the teachers of the government schools.
Those of the private schools obtain excellent results at the BECE level as compared to those in the government schools.
Go to a private school and you see the teachers who are poorly paid on duty at seven in the morning as compared to the teachers of the government schools going to work as late as nine in the morning.
Go to the ministries and you will have to beg a secretary to attend to you after you give that secretary a tip to do the work she is paid to do.
Check the attitude of the staff of Ghana Commercial Bank with that of the staff of Barclays or Stanchart and the difference will be clear.
This is all because government work is for nobody, but we forget that the government is for us and no more for the British and that they left sixty years ago.
The workers must not forget that the percentage of government workers is not up to 10% of the population but a greater chunk of government revenue is spent on them.
Some departments have workers who have no work but are there and get paid every month for no work done.
The NPP government must keep a close watch on those departments who have nothing to do for almost eight years but have workers who are paid every month.
Even your ministers use Ghana Mean Time instead Greenwich Mean Time to attend functions. Let them lead the change and by extrapolation, you must lead.
