IMANI This is a conflict of interest please. The moment the issuer is a connected party to the buyer who in this case even bought 95% of the Bond, there is a conflict of interest. Your argument that the party buying has bought similar Bonds before is irrelevant because the time he bought them there was no conflict because Mr Tekper had no such relationship with the party. Now the situation has changed. If Mr Tekper has issued 95% of a Bond in a private placement to an individual that will also raise an issue because it will only show that there is an interested party, which we all now know. It all happened because of the connected interests in this Bond issue. I am disappointed in the Veep for insulting people who have raised issues with the procedure, he should know that this is tax payers money and not a private dealing and therefore he is answerable to Ghanaians and they have a right to answers.

Akufo-Addo: BOG governor doesn't understand fractional reserve banking. Money supply originates from the central bank. In all countries where economics well understood central banks (reserve banks) lend to commercial banks.

Imani please give us space. You have lost my respect entirely. How can you pollute Ghanaians like this? Do you have your own laws or we are all looking at the same laws.

You borrowed GH¢ 2000 from Mr. A and have to pay back GH¢ 400 every WEEK and you are struggling to honour this. That's a burden so ONE way out is to borrow another GH¢ 2,000 from Mr. B where you negotiate to pay the same GH¢ 400 every MONTH. Then you pay off Mr. A.
Jake this way, you still owe GH¢ 2,000 but this time you have 3 weeks where you don't have to pay anything to free up money for other important things.
Jake please that's simply what they've done.

Why will NDC always like to throw dust/pepper into the eyes of Ghanaians by coming out with false statement, half truth, and pretend to be ignorant.?

The transaction was between the Government of Ghana and Franklin Templeton and NOT between Trevor Trefgarne and Ken Ofori Atta. Ken Ofori Atta is not a principal, director or employee of Franklin Templeton. Maybe the transaction required some kind of disclosure; which probably was effected. But, I don't see any conflict of interest issue here. As to whether the transaction should have been approved by Parliament, I have no comment because I don't know much about Parliamentary procedures in Ghana.

Just thinking out loud! Is it not a coincidence that the issuance of this bond strikes a note with the timing and exit of the former Governor of BOG?
