Acting according to the dictates of the constitution, the president appoints the CEOs of these parastatals, then the CEOs decide not to allow the president to apply the dictates of the constitution to interfere with the determination of their emoluments, and the president says: "Yoo, mate!" All this coming from the salaries commission! This only happens in Ghana.

"Indeed at the onset of the Single Spine Pay Policy (SSPP), all public institutions were invited to submit their allowances and salaries to enable the Commission harmonise and standardise existing conditions in the public service," it stated.
"Some institutions, however, declined compliance, claiming that per the definition of 'public service' as related to the SSPP, they were not covered," it added.
They claimed that they were not covered and therefore will not comply....and what happened when you knew they were actually covered?. Are there any rules and regulations to compel them to comply?.

Most of the Dept and their headshave been ineffective. Everyone is passing the buck. What is the salary of the head of the FWSC ? I think any one paid by the taxpayers money should have his /her salary available to the public and not hidden. It should be open to us all. In most advanced countries the CEO gets a bonus or a huge salary depending on his performance but in Ghana they don't work, attend university whilst being in charge, charge us to pay their tuition, feed fat on the poor Ghanaian and finally disrespect him.

Some of these state institutions have the best pay regime for their workers but they still steal. Being paid well doesn't guarantee corruption free

Do Ghana have minimum wage system or what or do Ghana do hour rate system? I think we should go to that system like they have in the west. Hour rate multiply by the hours you work in the week minus breaks each day then get paid from that after tax. If these are in place then people cannot be cheated. People have to sign contracts with their jobs and they have to get assignment instructions at work places so that they will learn to abide by the wage and rules of each company. In Britain the minimum wage is £7:20 per hour then our lunch breaks are deducted from our hours so say of l am working 8 hours a day lawfully l am entitled for a lunch break for an hour which will be deducted from the 8 hours and so l will get paid for 7 hours a day and so it is 7:20× 7hours a day then so it will be 35 hours or 37.50 hours a week which will be multiply by 4 on monthly basis then after tax , l will get my net pay. Understand? Nice and easy. Holidays are taken on accrued basis.. if don't accrued it you don't get much holidays and it is taken splitting into two ok. This will help Ghanaian workers very much so that all those greedy bustards will not taken huge amount of money home.

I see fair wages and salary commission as a useless state institution that is rewarding certificate rather than hard work. The salaries determined by this entity has not been fair and just enough, u come to most public institutions and u will realise that, those who are actually doing the work are not well paid but those are having the msc, ma, phd and what have you who are not doing anything are rather taking fat fat salaries.
