Kofi,
That is the sad matter.
Ministers and public officials speak without the benefit of data, plans, and other useful reports.
Where is the plan, Minister?

The Minister has started well. He must be commended. His statements give us a lot of hope that the destructive path that we have been on for many years will be reversed. America, Japan and many developed countries have forests and high quality trees but they don't fell or use them. They prefer to finish ours and our mad leaders help them. We need trees and forests to have a healthy life. Thanks Minister, we support you 100 Percent.

Find ways to deal with Collins Dauda and co. who have illegally destroyed Asumura forest at Goaso through to Côte divoire border. A nice and the only specy bird on earth (white-necked fowl) who lived in the forest for years which attracted tourists to that place has disappeared because of the forest being set on fire and cutting down of the trees. My heart wept because of that bird. Why should we destroy the future by allowing a particular person's greed, selfishness, money drunkness and heartlessness

This is a commendable step. Hope the minister does not buckle under agenda 20/20. Those old enough and attended KNUST remember Dr. Peter Boat(eng). He campaigned vigorously against indiscriminate felling of trees and called for export of added value wood products as opposed to raw timber but was yanked by the politicians in collusion with the timber merchants.
