Let's build strong institutions on rule of law rather than on partisan politics. Its too early to call for his resignation. It is very shameful that Akoto Osei, a whole MP, and an intellectual with PhD. and some professorial experience would make such an undemocratic comment for a Government-in-waiting that claims to be a champion of rule of law and Democracy. Politicians with such narrow-minded agenda are the reasons why we have been stuck in a spiral of kleptocracy and gross inept governance.
The way I see it, either Akoto Osei may be a bigot who hates to see a Northerner head the Bank of Ghana, as some have suggested, or is a nut-head ideologue with a vengeful heart. No decent Ghanaian hoping for a real reformation of the country should sit by to allow such arrogant, vicious discriminatory politics prevail in our country.
Would Akoto Osei repudiate the academic and professional qualifications of the Governor, or he simply believes the NPP should not allow any Official appointed by the NDC to keep his or her post in the Akufo-Addo Regime?
Unless the Akufo-Addo Government can prove the Governor performed his duties poorly, any attempt to push him out of his job would begin a quick slide into a quicksand for that regime.
This is the kind of witch-hunting that many feared with the prospect of Akufo-Addo ascending the Presidency. If the new Government resorts to such tactics to purge the Public Service of employees based solely on their partisan affiliations, and not on merit, the Nation could be thrown into a disarray the Akufo-Addo Mafia cannot contain.
The Governor must not resign voluntarily, even though the likes of Akoto Osei will not waste time to find fault with his work, should he stay on. They could make his life at the BoG a real hell. But he must not just simply drop out under such a pressure. In fact, he should not even let the threat of such people influence his work. He should stick to the bare principles that need to be applied to keep our Economy in the best shape possible.
Our Civil Servants must neither be made scapegoats or stooges of various Administrations.

He was the 2nd Dep.Governor of the BoG and going by the administrative structure of BoG, Millison Narh, after the resignation of good old Kofi Wampah forced out because he wasn't going to play ball, should have moved to the Governor's position, with Nashiru moving to the Presidency 1st and Asiamah to the 2nd.
So what happened?
Was his appointment political, because on what basis was he appointed over Narh?
He must be quite exceptional for that appointment to have been made, if not for other considerations.
And we are saying those other considerations are political and aligned with the out-going Mahama NDC gov't.
Nashiru's position as the Governor of BoG is therefore untenable and he must exit from the office.
It is the established norm and the precedence exists for Nashiru to step out of that office and it is not going to change. He must resign.
