Akoto osei speaks for just himself and not npp. The chief justice stayed even tnough appointed by another administrarion. These sought of infractions is what will send the country to war. This is stupidity at its best. How can the position of the central bank chief be politicized? Are we that petty and can't let our institutions work independently and grow in stature with maturity? The central bank, the supreme court, the police chief, the army commander, the navy commander and the air-force commander should all be left to serve their term to show how mature our institutions of governance evolve. Almost a quarter of a century of democratic dispensation we need to have something to show for it and not just mere talk. When we talk the talk we also must walk the walk.
What needed to be debated and implemented is the introduction of assets declaration by all senior government appointees, ministers, mp's, commissioners and principal secretaries.

And it's not like the current governor was appointed over the most senior in-house technocrats because he is a montary economist or finance guru. He is not. Ethnic and party affiliation were the most decisive factors in his appointment.

He was a deputy governor when he was appointed with the other due for retirement. If he wanted to politicise it he would have gone outside to make the appointment.
