Station attendants are largely untrained to service customers professionally. Those who profess to be customer friendly do so to solicit tips. They kept your coins and on even telling you they don't have the exact change for you. "What a heck if you can afford an expensive car why do you need the small change". Such is their mind set when it comes to private cars especially with female drivers.

My filling station is run by my wife and sister in Ghana.When I went back home I decided to check on the station without identiflying myself. The car I drove was new to them and most of the attendants didn't know me.My very brief experience forced me to sack one attendant.Not only was he trying to short me at the pump but also stiff my change.When I insisted on waiting while he got the change he became downright rude.I told him I knew the managers and will report him,to which he called me "too no" and to commot for there".I drove off and I guess somebody told him who I was because he and his people tried to appease me with gifts and apologies.I accepted the apology but sacked him.Now the attendants are much better .If you own a station I suggest you send regular ghost customers to check on your workers and install CCTV cameras.
