I have never trusted COCOBOD from the revolutionary era to its present CEO.Anybody remembers RESIGA? This company was owned by the so-called socialist Ahwois? Good they saw privatisation in the cocoa industry a good thing.In their own case however, they were channelling COCOBOD(government) resources to their private company. So why is the purchase and sale of cocoa still not private in this country, if it was good for the Ahwois!
What sense does it make for government to guarantee loans for COCOBOD for the CEO and its crooks, some in government to help their expensive lifestyles. This Opuni guy seems to be sensing danger and would do anything to avert it.But danger or not, COCOBOD should be privatised. Why do farmers smuggle cocoa to CIV.They send it to the highest bidder.Government is so full of rot they only help those they are not supposed to help...like the CEO and his group of individuals. Set the ECB on this CEO of COCOBOD and Ghanaians would be shocked. But I am not blaming him alone.He is only taking after his predecessors!
Private purchasers would contract their own loans, pay big prices to farmers and government burden will be lessened! No need to arrest anyone for helping to spray their neighbours farm....STUPID!!
