What a bullshit of a story! First of all since they know the story is a fabrication of their own imagination, they simply left out the name of their so-called source. Second; ENI is the company in charge of the Sankofa and Gye Nyame fields that will provide substantial gas to operate Ghana’s thermal power plants for 20 years and different from the TEN project.
This project alone will deliver 170 million cubic feet of gas per day and expected to generate an additional 1,100 megawatts of power to Ghana's energy mix by 2018. This, fellows, is different from the TEN project development by Tullow and partners that is supposed to come on stream in August this year to augment that of the Julilee field that is already in progress.
So, let us do the maths, shall we? Jubilee is pumping 100 MMcf/d into Atuabo Gas Plant. The TEN project is to add another 50 MMcf/d in July/August 2016 plus the 170 MMcf/d coming also on stream from ENI's Sankofa and Gye Nyame fields in 2018. So, what's this bogus of a source yapping about?

Mr Buah should spare us this thrash. I think the minster and his officials are lazy. A little research by them would have made it quite clear to them that Nigeria needs all the gas they are generating and are able to process for use in power generation for themselves. Nigeria has a huge deficit in power presently generated and what consumers want. The Buhari government has made promises to Nigerians to increase electricity generation to cover all citizens. They are so far focussing on this and are not interested in exporting their gas. There is absolutely nothing Ghana can do if they do not supply what they have contracted to give us. What Buah and his people at the ministry should be doing is to look for alternative sources of gas, and import this to supplement whatever we can produce as a nation. There is so much incompetence and inefficiency in the N-GAS company that we cannot rely on them for regular supplies. WE must explore other sources and start importing from these sources. This cannot be done by sitting in their offices in Accra. They should get on their feet and find new sources.

Damson, let's always be serious. We need the Nigerians now and forever, we can't do it because we don't understand how to do it. We are only good at propaganda and insult, though not always of us........ Our leaders are not honest with us, Nigeria has 45% stake in our crude oil exploration and other foreign people do, we only have 5% of the total crude oil business..... Now, I hope you will see why I said we need them forever.

We just love empty promises. The guy is telling the truth... At the moment we are no where near meeting or gas demand, our gas demand is not static it's projected to increase significantly annually over the coming years. The energy deficit in Nigeria is even far greater than ours. We are benefiting from that country (even as we don't pay up regularly) bcos Nigeria has not developed its infrastructure well enough to effectively use its gas for maximal power generation. As Nigeria improve there would be challenges...there may come a time when whether we pay up or not Nigeria may not be able to supply all our gas needs. So this guy is saying, ...we are working hard to increase our indigenous gas production (eni, sankofa etc), but with what we have now, even when fully developed would not be enough in years to come bcos of our gas demand growth. We therefore would continue to depend on Nigeria while we look for other additional sources, like importing LIQUEFIED GAS, and continuing oil & gas exploration. This makes sense to me. What is wrong with that approach.
