It doesn't matter which tribal class is ruling the country—especially, who the head Negro (President) is. They appoint most of the key people in their administration from their tribal group—and Mahama is no different!! Look at the list of his appointees? It's a doggone tall list of Northerners.
With Ghana's chaotic monetary policies, I personally prefer to have the next governor to be somebody who’s well VERSED in monetary policy and International Economics. The world is now a small place to operate in, because of the high level of technology. So, if the president wouldn’t be pulled into his tribal quarters, then he should base his selection on "competence in monetary policy", while the other deputies and managers should be supporting the governor with their avalanche of knowledge in fiscal & econometric policies. Cedi stabilization, inflation, interest rates, CPI, etc., should all be paramount.
$$ GOOD LUCK THOUGH, TIGER $$!!

Check the Bank of Ghana website. Deputy Governors do not usually become Governors. Dr. Duffuor was appointed Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana from his previous position as Head of the Ghana International Bank in London. His succeeded Dr. Agama who was appointed from outside the Bank. Therefore the precedent has been to appoint Governors from outside the Bank of Ghana.

I suggest the position goes to Bawumia since by his posture all colleague economists in Ghana are useless. The tension itself, if there is, is normal but only that they must even collaborate more since the substantive minister is out. JDM should also fast track the process to get the new person settle quickly as the wish of Dr Wampah.

The Bank has a policy that staff who have less than a year to retire should not be promoted. It was a policy Mr Narh instituted as the Supervising Governor for Human Resource Department of the Bank. This odd policy affected many until he probably had a wind of the Governor's intention and decided to modify it this year. A clear case of insider trading.
Secondly, the key Departments at the BoG, which hitherto were supervised by the 1st Deputy Governor, are all supervised by Nashiru.
Finally, this supposed tango is reminiscent of his modus operandi. He used the same kangaroo communist tactics when his appointment as Deputy Governor was still under consideration.
He just have to follow his boss. Period!

I have a personal feeling that the replacement of the immediate BOG Chief should not be publicised and politicised but rather a person with high integrity.I have a close relationship with some two highly profiled personalities like the Asantehene Otunfuo and Togbe Afede who are both renowned financial analysts in this country worked with one of the two deputies of Dr.Wampah,I therefore advice the President not to hesitate in appointing mr Nasiru Isahaku as the new Chief of BOG.
