.ASHANTI TOWN SNAKES Ever since the Ashanti town issue cropped up I have been amazed to hear our useless academicians attributing it to remote causes like Climate Change and the likes. Look, such things are the regular features of the wild especially during mass movement of soldier ants (Nkrani in Twi from which we got the name Nkran - Accra). During such movements by the ants in the wild, they occupy every space in the terrain including holes, crevices, cracks and snake hide-outs in the bush in a sweeping mode and since snakes fear the ants they flee - Who said snakes don't have natural enemies.
The snakes running to homes in Ashanti town is to find a place to hide themselves. The only solution to this is to allow a lot of local pigs to roam the vicinity. Cats should also be given the freedom to scan the neighborhoods to ensure that any single snake is trailed. This can only be successful if there are no Muslims and Ewes in that particular Ashanti town. .
