BOST is not doing badly in recent years. There is a lot of transformation that has gone on and that is why they are able to raise LCs (without government guarantees) to procure crude oil for TOR to refine. Now that these institutions have been resurrected, let us give them the needed support for the to stand on their feet once more and then we can be to think of totally weaning them of governmental support.
We need to be mindful not create the enabling environment for greedy businessmen and nation wreckers to take advantage of a loot the ordinary man. Given the opportunity, some people and institutions would wish TOR and BOST dead for good so that they can continue their businesses. What did we not see when the NPP deliberately crippled TOR. The same magnates opened BDCs and OTCs and were bringing in refined products at cut-throat prices. In some cases they suffocated TOR and bought refined fuels sailing on our own shores by circumventing laid down procedure under the guise of national security and emergency.
