Read all the recent media release by independent journalists and civil society groups and you'll know the situation was planned by the Obuasi MCE who bought the dignity of the lands minister to withdraw the military so that illegal miners can return to Anglogold and cause this mess!
The politicians are enjoying their share from the illegal miners so how can we expect them to help thwart the activities of these illegal miners, especially when they have promised them to secure concession for their illegal mining activity. The death of that AGA manager means nothing to them... In fact, they have already received their share of money from the illegal miners and will not dare to stop them to break the deal. The Obuasi MCE is no exception and will do anything to support these illegal miners! It's such a pity! Do we get a better Ghana when we have such leaders?????

Wofa Kwesi,

it is true that our government is not serious to uphold laws in anything in Ghana.
For the past four decades, power, money and greed have corrupted all elected government officials at every level in Ghana. What is most alarming is the blatant corruption running rampantly in all ministries. The result ruminatively pinned down Ghana as a nation without vision and inability or ready to balance its financial priorities, and maintains its commitments.
My fellow Ghanaians i need to be brief here, "Is it anyway or chance to resolve this uncivilized and undesirable conflict? This in not a local government and national government issue, THIS IS A REGIONAL and NATIONAL GOVERNMENT ISSUE.
The Ghana constitution, Act of 1992 provides that, Ghana government established a system of local government and be decentralized each local government unit with a sound financial base with adequate and reliable sources of revenue. Furthermore, the local government can manage and execute policies in respect of all matters affecting the people within their areas, and achieving localization of those activities.
No, the Constitution is not helping to solve the regional problems of this country because there are not enough consensuses or a concrete obligation on this matter. In fact, the national government only stressed on subordinate units or levels of government, semi autonomous public authorities but not on regional level. This automatically allows the local government falls into deconcentration administration, the weakest form of decentralization. Even though it is believe that local governments’ proximity to their constituents will force them to be better than central governments at managing resources and matching their constituent’s preferences. Nevertheless, the kind of local government model created by the government never allowed them to have the capacity to translate information advantage into an efficiency advantage or represent reality, but only a simplified picture of reality that Ghanaians are able to understand we are in fact in democratic world.
Ghana is a failed state and we two heads to govern the nation:THE REGION and THE NATIONAL.
The military protects the nation and should not be used to protect corporations. Otherwise every corporation will demand military protection.
