All these are rhetorics and does not yield anything. On the reduction of rice imports I can assure you it is not because of increase in local rice production but because importers are paying more cedis to get the foreign exchange to import so they are importing less and if we do not take care there will be food shortage in the country. Let's sit up Ghana is being wasted away.

Ghana loses a lot of grains after harvest. Issue is not production but post harvest processes like drying, cleaning and storage They need to invest in Silo plants.

Which he and his ndc cronies signed off on and chopped. THEY WILL FORM TERROR CELLS. BRING IN TERROR FRIENDS TO LIVE AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO DESTABILISE GH IN THE NAME OF ISLAM. THE MALLS THAT PATRONIZE WESTERNERS, MAJOR MARKET CENTERS SHOULD ALL BE ALERT. WE HAVE SO MANY PRO ISLAM NATIONS ON PLANET EARTH. WHY DID USA CHOOSE TO SEND THESE TERRORISTS TO GH? THERE IS A CLEAR CUT PLAN TO ALLOW THESE TO COME IN AND KILL GHANAIANS WITH BOMB UNDER THE DISGUISE OF RELIGION. JUST WATCH, U WILL SEE....MAHAMA, U ARE A DAMN FOOL. U OUGHT TO BE ASSASSINATED. We've had so many scandals in 2015; the CHRAJ scandal, Judicial scandal, DVLA, AMERI, West Blue, MMT bus branding...GYEEDA, SADA, AKONFEM ETC....MAHAMA IS A USELESS ASSHOLE! IF U KNEW YOU COULDN’T DELIVER AS PRESIDENT. WHY DID U KILL FOR THE JOB? TO STEAL? U MUST ALSO BE KILLED, IDIOT! ALL U KNOW IS SWEET TONGUE…LYING AND DECEIVING THE GH PPL…Abena Osei Asare, who is also the Member of Parliament for Atiwa East in the Eastern region told Joy News, a similar directive to the Attorney General to retrieve money paid to RLG and Zoomlion under GYEEDA informs her conviction the latest directive will not achieve much. “Ghanaians are not impressed. See Woyome, Isofoton and all the others, all these recoveries were backed by law but ask yourself, has the AG been able to recover even one-tenth of the amount? No. This time, it is not even backed by anything legal so I have my doubt as to whether they can recover the money,” the MP said.

WHILE LEADERS OF PROGRESSIVE COUNTRIES ARE INVESTING HEAVILY IN INDUSTRIALIZATION, RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT MANUFACTURING AUTOMOBILES,SPACE EXPLORATION AND MODERN INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT, DUMMY GHANAIAN LEADERS ARE INVESTION ON AGRICULTURE TO FEED THE CIVILIZED NATIONS.
THAT'S BECAUSE THEY SAID AFRICA SHOULD INVEST IN AGRICULTURE TO FEED THEM (INDUSTRIALIZED AND CIVILIZED NATIONS)
EVEN INDIAN AND GULF ARAB LEADERS HAVE NOW 'GOT IT' BY INVESTING IN SPACE EXPLORATION AND AGGRESSIVE NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT.
HEAVY AGRICULTURE INVESTMENT WILL NOT GET ANY AFRICAN COUNTRY ANYWHERE RESPECTABLE IN THE GLOBAL ECONOMY.
R&D INVESTMENT AND MASSIVE QUALITATIVE EDUCATION WILL!
KWASIAFUOR GHANA LEADERS, WHERE IS KANTANKA AUTO LTD?
AFRICAN LEADERS WILL REMAIN DUMMIES TILL THY KINGDOM COME.

If you care to read economic history, most countris - including the United States, much of Europe, and Australia today, Mauritius in Africa have transformed on th back of agriculure int h eraly days of the industrialisation. Productivedriculture provides the raw materials as well as releases labour to to manufacturing. Incrased per capita incomes in agricukture provide the tax revenues to invest in R&D which then allows for building the capacity for a next level of industrailisation which is not based on agriculture.
Prsident Mahama is right. Indeed Nana Akufo Addo made much th same comment about the need to transform agriculture through irrigation in his recent tour of th north.

This is very reassuring, but lets do it with a greater sense of urgency n commitment n also take note that it shouldn't take us more than two yrs minimum and five yrs max, particularly wt tree crops and livestocks like cattle etc. to develop the capacity to produce enough rice and cereals n grains to feed our selves n for poultry n other livestocks. it takes just about same period to also build further capacity to produce enough poultry entirely for our local use....be reminded however that the value chain is very very critical to ensure our total food sufficiency n security...

SADA launched an Commercial Agriculture Invetsment Guide yesterday, th 14th of January. The Guide contains, among others, land compatibilist analysis for 25 crops across the SADA Zone. One of the stunning results of these maps is that, under irrigated conditions, more than 3.5 million hectares of land is highly suitable for rice production - but only under irrigated conditions. Fortunately underground acquifers ar rich and th area is extensively served by th Volta River basin.
H.E The President's information about the Nasia-Nabogo is a start and construction is expected to start soon.
Thre are at least 23 other sites acriss th zone. The Pwalugu dam is an example. When constructed, it will irrigate 20,000 hectares by gravity and up to 100,000 hectares with pumping. Fortunately the Wolrd Bank has just taken keen interest in working with SADA and oters to ralise this project. These are fine starts. But still a drop in the ocean when compared with the over 8m hectares that are avaliable and suitable for productive agriculture in the zone.
