Any African leader who thinks somehow China has some kind of blueprint that can turn their economies into paradise is not thinking straight. The only people who can turn things around in Africa are Africans. What is missing is the leadership and the will to make it happen. Until the leadership issue is fixed, even Jesus Christ may not be able to help us.

In the history of mankind, there has never been a situation where a country has gone out of its way to develop another country or group of countries--let alone actively seek to industrialize another. In fact, history teaches us that the opposite is true. Countries want to ensure that the supplier of raw materials (in the case of Africa) will never achieve industrial status. Why? Because the supplier now gains a HUGE UPPER HAND--it has the raw materials and it also has the ability to make use of the raw materials and sells the output at premium prices. Why would China do that? Pipe dream!

If you want to mature, do other yourself..don't rely on anyone. Of ecowas alone set up an ecowas infrastructural fund. Each nation puts up some amount of money as seed money. This is what the Asian infrastructure fund has done. There won't be any need to go for loans from anywhere. The interest on loans stays in the continent and you sell your natural resources to the highest bidder. AU, ecowas must consider these development options. If china signs a deal. They will make sure they flood african markets with goods. Africa can't produce and export for profit. Everything africa produces will be sent to china who will sell it for more. Africa needs corruption free continent for faster development and not the so-called aid or whatsoever. We aren't poor, but its unfortunate we have greedy and corrupt leadership. This is what is derailing Africa's development.
