Many times, we do these things to suck monies from the state, the Senkyi forum lasted for weeks, organisers spent 5 star luxuries. Today, EC is spending money to solicit ideas on new voters register.

Tweea, NDC, nii moi Thompson and Kwesi Botchway developping a 40 year plan for Ghana and not even 4 days?. Since they don't understand what they are doing, they don't even know whether it is the right time, right frame, infact they are foolish. Finish and it dies as soon as you give it to dead goat. I don't have time to talk to people like these

Everyday this issue pops up there are so many suggestions and reasons also popping up to tell him that what he thinks he is doing is not correct. The next time, he repeats the same. Does he think becuause his boss mahama is brainless so all Ghanaians are useless? Who in his right senses will develop a 40 years plan? Have you heard of Vision 2020 and 2030 for other countries? You can develop a 40 yuear vision but cannot develop a 40 years plan. You can argue this foolishly and ask any proper professor anywhere in the world. They will tell you you cannot develop a 40 year plan. You develop a vision and implement through policies, strategic plans and short term plans. Only NDC and Nii moi Thompson will develop a 40 year plan!!!How come Ghanaians have lost all knowledge and wisdom, even the professors those who know nothing are in NDC dragging the country backward with your foolish dead goat leading.

Planners who become too proud to seek and integrate public input into their plans are bad planners.
Public participation in planning comes in different forms-
1. Wish list public participation
2. Opinion/focus group public participation, and
3. Knowledgeable/Expert/informed public participation.
So far the NDPC has done a lot of wish-list public participation.
I hope that is not the end of the 40-year public participation process.

He is.drawing our attention to certain unforseeable factors which may render the plan ineffective hence we need to listen to him. 20 years is more realistic and well within our reach. Lets work with the first half and second half principle so that we can assess ourselves after the first and take the good learns from the first to build a better second. I love it, wise people are still in Ghana

A ten-year plan would work better. The various parameters which would definitely shift can be better controlled or adjusted to when the plan iss SHORTER than when longer. This will induce a certain amount of FOCUS and intensity whic will not be felt with long term plan. Seeing the terminal of the plan induces better committment IMHO.

A plan is a funded program that is strictly adhere to. I wonder if our Parliament can even foresee and come out with a two-year developmental plan.

I'm having difficulties to understand people like this economist and the likes of Akoto Osei whether they don't like the idea of perspective plan or it is going to be done by the NDC government. In either way they are portraying themselves to outside professionals in the field as 'shortsighted'. 'Plan' by their nature always have such eventualities whether it's is 100yrs or 6 months. This is because no one know what will happen tomorrow. For instance, when you are preparing your child's future through education at age 2 or 3, you don' say I have to wait till he gets 10 because teaching method may change from blackboard and chalk to something else in your village. You will let the child start because the idea is to prepare the child to become an engineer or doctor in the future. As he starts, teachers will let you know about new thing or changes which your child need to continue such preparation of becoming an engineer in his future when you are old. Any attempt to stay undecided is likely to render the child to become a vagabond in his adulthood. Perspective plans only set up a bigger vision how you want your society to be in the future. It is to guard you so that you are not caught on the wrong side of history. Within it are medium terms usually 5yrs or 4years which rollover up to last year of the Perspective plan. It sets up programmes that will help to active the ultimate aim. the last is the short term plan usually annual--setting up the specific projects and programmes. It usually ties to the annual budget. In all these preparation to get to the end, you do evaluation comprehensively to adjust it to suit eventualities of time. So either 20yrs or 40 years it wouldn't make any difference. It only depends on your vision or how you envisage the future you want to be. To Anthony Osei Akoto, using manifesto of political parties which is not within a common vision is not a good practice and it wouldn't make Ghana look like South Korea not even 1000 years. You guys should work with Thompson who set himself with this big dream with all your heart. It's not everywhere that we do politicking to tear good ideas or big dreams apart.
