Why do Ghanaians think that the country needs foreign investors to build our industries and to create jobs? Is this because our economic textbooks say so or what? I don't understand that mindset. Why do we rule ourselves then? Why don't we just call the British back to rule us? Meanwhile, our financial resources are stolen by our leaders and stashed in foreign banks by our very leaders telling us we can't develop without foreign investors. This is crazy.

In Ghana we have not seen much in the way of funding of meaningful research; we have had higher education faculty and staff more into how much money they can make from their employer than future possibilities and potential. Businesses and government alike must invest in research at out institution.
