This analyses should be made simple. Oil revenue is in dollars. The government should let us know if the receipts are tied to the dollar or not. The only way revenue can exceed expectation, realistically is if output more than doubles. But this is not the case.

Good comment!
Fact is, when one has low expectations, even a dollar increase over $1,000 becomes a bid deal.

WE SAY: Good point - with the weak cedi!
Also, they neglected to tell Ghanaians how many barrels of oil Ghana received that resulted in "Oil revenue exceeds expectation", versus how many barrels of oil the oil companies took, at how many dollars.
The last we saw, Ghana was getting just about 21%, and the Mahama-NDC government has continued to reject demands that it set the petroleum regime to the Production Share Agreement (PSA) that pays more to host countries.
Read our upcoming short essay on the subject!
Greetings!

How about parliamentarians , custom officers, police , and President and ministers of state? Of course the ordinary is the final sufferer and when you demonstrate against stealing, you are beaten up brutally. Mahama/NDC MUST GO. WE WANT CHANGE for better or for worse!
