The paradox continues as "goodnews is no news". The cedi is rising and that's good for business. I hope the government will keep this momentum so that business society will have a sigh of relief.

So does that mean prices of goods such as cement, roofing sheets and food stuff going to decrease. What about the prices of fuel? Are the going to go down as the Cedi improves against the Dollar. I doubt it very much.

The speculators are releasing their hoarded dollars because they sense the exchange rate will not pass between 30% to 40% which is the saturated point. The natural behavior of the market is sending panic to them. If one reads money market history of South African since 1992 when Nelson Mandela came to power, the rand became see saw. Before 1992 the rand was par with the dollar and even some time the rand was higher than dollar. After 1992 the exchange rate for the rand and the dollar became 4 rand to a dollar. Eventually, the situation caught up with speculators and the rand is now stabilized.
