I admit that this is a poorly written report by Abigail Naa Karley Clegg, it lacks in authenticity and loaded with hyperbole. An authentic report would indicate how much pre-tax profits went into taxes, and specific social programs Newmont supports in the region. To be credible, we need a government or an independent funded consultancy far removed from Newmont's payroll to issue this report.
Speaking of local content, how many Ghanaians are in top management positions in Newmont operations Ghana? Why should a report like this not include building human capacities?
