When you vote revolutionaries to manage an economy, this is what you get. When you take on project you can not pay for, and you go borrowing left, right and center, this is what it results in. Suppose the Bank of Ghana caps lending rates at 35% (which is possible sooner than later) and the NDC, through lack of commonsense actions, allows inflation to rise to 40% , will the Bank of Ghana issue it's T-Bills at 33%. What idiots do we have in power. Government should cut her coat according to her size (rather than Asiedu Nketia's size) and allow the Bank of Ghana to support the cedi. That's when inflation will fall. Idiots!

If they have any sense at all then they should put a cap on what dollar rate they use at the port. This is what is killing the economy.

It is not possible for a government whose source of revenue is mainly taxation to refuse to pay for services and goods it procures and expect the business to boom and make profit so it can gain tax revenue. Pay for your contracts, let the businesses make money and then tax them. that is how growth is achieved.

“If you govern properly, do right by the economy and inflation drops, cedi is stable, debt is low, interest rates will automatically drop.”
He is also of the view that blaming the economic crisis on fallen crude and commodity prices on the world market is lame: “Why are you a manager? You are to manage the situation; that is your job. What factor is within the control of the person who is managing his factory? Does he produce power? No! But he has a difficulty and so he has to make economic and management decisions to address the difficulty -- but not throwing your hands up in the air saying that since there is no power my factory should collapse”.
Thanks for sharing this piece of wisdom.
