You keep making comparing our energy crisis to other country and keep reminding you that those people in these countries maybe accustomed to not having power. Once again, any relatively energy shortfall that slows down our already ill economy or infrequent power cuts that affects our social life cannot be compared those in this region. We need energy to steer our country to a forefront. However, it seem this administration is at lost when comes into facing solution to this crisis. With so many experts who trot on the door front the President everyday there is no mention of an alternate solution by these experts to our energy crisis since the crisis became a problem.
Why can’t the president and his experts consider independent power producers (IPPs), such as wind or solar. Something South Africa has adopted to curtail their energy problem. IPPs can be brought to market relatively quicker and can be more stable when they are run by private enterprise who cannot afford a loss in revenue. Further deployments like this and the encouragement of co-generation projects with industry, can go a long way in helping resolve the issue.
What the president need are experts who can direct him to a right path but not a long list of communicators who rush to every media house in town just in the spirit of “propagandism” to insult women who may have different view of the president approach in finding solutions to this problem.

Well, if such is the case, then why is your Akufo Addo drawing comparison every each day between us and the Ivorians?
Yes dear, we surely need energy, in fact, a whole lot of it to put us out there shining like a Botswana diamond, but we have to start somewhere to get there since all our past governments did very little to solve the problem. In the case of Mahama, he acted too late due to a promised of some Holy Grail West African Pipeline, which by the way, came later on-stream. Surprisingly, it did very little to augment the shortfall in the system, a situation he has since blamed himself thousand and one times over again.
On the other hand, I like your touch on South African energy mix which gives me the sense that you are vividly aware that South Africa did experience what we are going through before and have since taken steps to curve it, though not out of the wood yet due to the increase in electrification lines, but they're on the right track. However, such investment, whether initiated by private or government, takes time and Mahama has already invited some into the country who are readily hands-on-deck, but need time to get the mix right for the country. Very good discourse from your end this time around.

Honestly I really can not get my head around this issue raging on in Ghana. So what is so difficult about solving this simple electricity power issue if not for the fact that it's being used as political bait? I can sense very well that this government is dragging its feet and waiting towards the election season then solve the situation so that it can claim credit to enable the people to vote and retain them in power. This is very childish and stupid way of running the affairs of a country such as Ghana with over 26 million people. Governments after governments have over the years used developmental projects as baits to get the people votes, they wait until election season approaches when pretend as is they are seriously embarking on a project that had been abandoned for ages and soon as elections are over they would been abandoned again. A case in point is the Kumasi - Accra highway and this time around the issue at stake is much more sensitive - electricity.
This government would be foolish to think that the social and political alertness of Ghanaians still remains as they used to be a decade or even 3 years ago. The people of Ghana are smarter than this government give them credit for. Ghanaians have embraced digital technology so well that they are more informed and eager to dig for logical information and probe further for their questions to be genuinely answered than it used to be the case. And they can read between the lines. Even if this power crisis is eventually solved by this government the Ghanaian electorates are going to vote them out as they have lost their integrity and trust as far as the people are concerned. The people would not rest but demonstrate and protest and these protests would become serious and fierce no matter how the organisers are intimated or coerced.
The Ghanaian of this age is afraid of nothing, unlike in those days when he/she used to be molested and cowed to submission by the authorities and their agents. He/she is smarter and ‘no foko’ can be done to him or her so this government should better get it's acts together and solve this power crisis ASAP and when its time is up get out of power, they must not expect to be voted in again. It really is unacceptable. A country like Ghana with such resources under its belt must be able to effectively and efficiently operate a constant electricity supply; there should be no excuse whatsoever.
The fact that Nigeria has gone down this route and accepted darkness as a fact of life doesn't mean Ghanaians should also accept it as the norm. Have the people of Nigeria ever demonstrated over the lack of constant electricity supply before? I'm not quite sure but this should go to inform everyone how different Ghana is. If a government is smart enough it should be able to provide constant electricity for its people. There are several competent electricity power generating and distribution consortiums and companies about, both home and abroad and a competent government would generate and manage the resources of its country and in Ghana's case she has loads, to manage these service providers well, paying them what is due them and they in turn would honour their part of the bargain.
